Welcome to Taste of Hope
It is difficult to comprehend the magnitude of poverty in Ethiopia or understand how millions of orphaned, hungry and destitute children live out their day-to-day lives. We may be inclined to believe we can't possibly make a difference because of the staggering statistics:
- 800,000 orphans
- 32,000 with HIV in the Mekelle region alone
- 4.5 million starving and in need of emergency food relief
Growing up in Ethiopia, Saba Tewolde experienced the pangs of hunger and the hardships of life that still plague this nation. As an Ethiopian refugee, Saba is now living here in America and shares her story and vision of hope through Taste of Hope.
There is a story called the Starfish Story that inspires us. A little boy on a beach finds himself in the midst of thousands of starfish that have been washed up on shore from a storm. Undaunted, he sets about the task of rescuing them one by one. Together with Saba, Taste of Hope, is saving lives one by one. This is an invitation for you to join us!
Act 2:26 So my heart is glad. Joy is on my tongue. My body also will be full of hope. (NIRV)
